What We Do

Performance Foot and Ankle Specialists is dedicated to helping patients with foot and ankle disorders of all kinds. Here's a brief list:

Skin and Nail Problems

We have a variety of methods of alleviating pain related to toenails, warts, corns and callouses.

Foot or Ankle Deformities

Many people are born with abnormal foot structure. Sometimes this is obvious, but often it is subtle and does not present problems until adulthood. We provide treatment for all painful deformities no matter how mild or severe.

Sports Medicine

Athletic activities result in significantly increased repetitive loads on the bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons of the foot and ankle. Often, repetitive stress injuries result. During running, 4 times body weight is loaded on the foot. Even a small structural issue can result in accrued damage.

Trauma

With 28 bones and associated joints, ligaments, and tendons, there are a great number of ways to injure your foot and ankle. Dr. Lowinger has expertise in both surgical and conservative treatment of fractures, dislocations, sprains, and tendon injuries.

Orthotic Therapy

Foot orthoses (orthotics) are used to treat a variety of mechanical problems of the foot and ankle. They are sometimes used to treat knee and back pain as well.

We make truly custom devices to fit the needs of each patient and work with one of the most experienced labs in the area to produce high-quality, durable orthoses.
